- Cold War Enhancement Mod. Check Out This Mod. If you feel like expanding on the warfare aspect of Victoria 2, the Cold War Enhancement Mod is a great place to start. This also moves the focus to more modern times, CWEM focuses on the events of the Cold War fought between the USA and the Soviet Union.
- CWE brings Victoria 2 into the Cold War era and beyond. This is the ultimate Cold War mod with a slew of special features such as ideological blocs, dynamic international institutions.
CWE (cold war enhancement mod) is the brighter sibling of NWO with less warmongering and more focus on the time period and industry in general. You should try HFM (historical flavor mod) if you want to get a more historical experience of basically what you did in HPM.

Crashing on Windows XP: Incompatible lua5.1.dll & lua51.dll files[edit]
This crash is caused by the included LUA scripting DLLs being incompatible with Windows XP, which prevent the game from starting.
Replace files[citation needed] |
---|
- Download older LUA DLLs version
lua5_1_4_Win32_dll6_lib.zip . - Go to the installation folder.
- Rename or remove the original
lua5.1.dll and lua51.dll files. - Extract
lua5.1.dll and lua51.dll from lua5_1_4_Win32_dll6_lib.zip to the installation folder.
Notes - Alternatively, the
lua5.1.dll and lua51.dll from Hearts of Iron III can be used. - Some versions of the game with the Heart of Darkness DLC installed may still crash in the middle of loading.
